The Redmi K70E is set to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra System-on-Chip (SoC).

The Redmi K70 series is set to debut in China as the successor to the Redmi K60 lineup. The company has been building anticipation for the launch through various Weibo posts. The upcoming Redmi K70 lineup is expected to consist of three models, mirroring the structure of its predecessor—the Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60E models. Xiaomi had previously teased specifications for the Redmi K70E, and leaked details about the base Redmi K70 have surfaced online. The company has now officially announced the launch date for the Redmi K70 series.

Xiaomi revealed on Weibo that the Redmi K70 series is scheduled to launch on November 29 at 7 pm local time (4:30 pm IST) in China. The Xiaomi China website has also posted a promotional banner for the event. The online posters shared by the company showcase a Redmi K70 model in a black color option with a triple rear camera module. The exact model or names of all the phones in the series have not been officially confirmed.

While the company recently confirmed the launch of the Redmi K70E and teased some of its key specifications, details about the base Redmi K70 model have been leaked. The Redmi K70E will be powered by the newly released MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC and will feature a 1.5K display with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and a high-frequency PWM dimming rate of 1,920 Hz. It will also come with the new Xiaomi HyperOS and a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. According to the company, the handset will have a thickness of 8.05mm.

Xiaomi China President Lu Weibing also teased the launch of the Redmi K70 on the Chinese microblogging site. Although he did not disclose specific details, he mentioned that as Redmi, the Xiaomi sub-brand, celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the Redmi K70 will be unveiled. In a separate post, Weibing suggested that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC might replace the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset as a popular choice for phone makers. These closely timed posts have led to speculations that the base Redmi K70 model could be powered by the second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor.

In a recent leak, renders of the alleged base Redmi K70 model were shared by a tipster. The phone is depicted in a white color option with three camera sensors and an LED flash at the top left corner of the back panel. The leaked images also show a flat front panel with slim bezels and a center-aligned hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The volume rocker and power button are positioned on the left edge of the handset in the leaked images, with the power button possibly serving as a fingerprint sensor.
