The leaked image reveals a classic Apple package design, featuring a white box with a MacBook Pro illustration displayed on the lid.

Apple is gearing up for its upcoming event at the end of this month, where it is anticipated to introduce new iMac and MacBook models. Invitations for the ‘Scary Fast’ event, scheduled for October 30 at 5 pm PT (5.30 am IST on October 31), have already been dispatched. In the lead-up to the event, an image purported to be the packaging of a MacBook Pro has surfaced online. This leak showcases the familiar Apple packaging: a white box adorned with the image of a MacBook Pro on the lid.

This exclusive Apple leak initially surfaced on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo and was subsequently shared by the tipster ShrimpApplePro (@VNchocoTaco) on X on Wednesday. While the leak lacks specific details, it prominently displays a silver-colored unreleased MacBook Pro on the box, featuring a new wallpaper on its screen.

As is customary, Apple has remained tight-lipped about its rumored lineup of Macs, so it is advisable to approach this leak with a degree of skepticism. The Cupertino-based company is widely expected to introduce a new 24-inch iMac during its ‘Scary Fast’ event. A day before Apple’s event announcement, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the company was preparing to launch the long-awaited 24-inch iMac refresh towards the end of October. The most recent iMac was unveiled at Apple’s ‘Spring Loaded’ event in 2021.

The company may also unveil its highly-anticipated M3 chip for its range of Mac models, which are anticipated to be unveiled at the event. According to Bloomberg, the event could witness the introduction of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, potentially powered by M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg’s Gurman also noted that existing iMacs and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models were in short supply at Apple retail stores, hinting at the imminent arrival of new releases. He also mentioned that a larger Pro version of the iMac is expected in late 2024 or 2025. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities, also predicted the debut of a higher-end iMac with a 32-inch mini-LED display in 2025.

Apple is also actively working on refreshing its iPad lineup, although these updates are not likely to be showcased at the ‘Scary Fast’ event, which is expected to focus primarily on Macs. Reports suggest that the company is working on updates for the iPad Air, the entry-level iPad, and the iPad mini, which may be launched around March 2024. The forthcoming event will be livestreamed on Apple’s YouTube channel, website, and Apple TV+.
