The leaked image displays a classic Apple package, featuring a white box with the MacBook Pro’s picture on the lid.

Apple is gearing up for its upcoming showcase at the end of this month, where it’s anticipated to reveal new iMac and MacBook models. Invitations for the ‘Scary Fast’ event have already been dispatched, scheduled for October 30 at 5 pm PT (5.30 am IST on October 31). Prior to the event, an image allegedly depicting the packaging of a MacBook Pro has surfaced online. This leak showcases a conventional Apple packaging – a white box adorned with an image of the MacBook Pro on the cover.

The unusual Apple leak initially surfaced on the Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo and was subsequently shared by tipster ShrimpApplePro (@VNchocoTaco) on X on Wednesday. Though the leak doesn’t contain any specifics, it does present a silver-colored unreleased MacBook Pro on the box, featuring a new wallpaper on its display.

As is customary, Apple has remained tight-lipped about its rumored lineup of Macs, so it’s wise to approach this leak with caution. The Cupertino-based company is widely anticipated to introduce a new 24-inch iMac at its ‘Scary Fast’ event. A day prior to Apple’s event announcement, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman disclosed that the company was preparing to launch the long-anticipated 24-inch iMac refresh towards the end of October. The previous iMac was unveiled at Apple’s ‘Spring Loaded’ event in 2021.

Furthermore, the company might unveil its highly awaited M3 chip across its range of Mac models during the event. According to Bloomberg, the event could also witness the debut of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, potentially powered by M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg’s Gurman reported that Apple retail stores were experiencing shortages of the existing iMac and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, hinting at imminent new releases. He also mentioned the possibility of a larger Pro version of the iMac arriving in late 2024 or 2025. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities, similarly asserted that a high-end iMac with a 32-inch mini-LED display might make its debut in 2025.

Apple is also in the process of refreshing its iPad lineup, although it’s unlikely to feature at the ‘Scary Fast’ event, which is expected to be Mac-focused. The company is reportedly working on updates for the iPad Air, the entry-level iPad, and the iPad mini, with a potential launch in March 2024. The forthcoming event will be live-streamed on Apple’s YouTube channel, website, and Apple TV+.
