Vivo is set to unveil its Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14, on October 7.

Vivo has officially revealed the launch date for Funtouch OS 14 in India. This OS update, which is based on Android 14, is scheduled to be available to Vivo and iQoo users in India starting at 12 pm on October 7. This announcement follows Vivo’s earlier introduction of the Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 Preview Program for X90 Pro users.

While specific details about the changes and improvements in Funtouch OS 14 have not been disclosed by the company, Vivo has assured users of a “smoother experience.” The list of eligible smartphones for the update is yet to be announced.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vivo has confirmed the launch of the Funtouch OS 14 update, built on Android 14, in India on October 7. The rollout will commence at 12 pm IST for eligible Vivo and iQoo device owners. However, Vivo has not provided information about the devices that will receive the update or the specific enhancements it will bring.

In response to a query regarding the availability of the update for the Vivo V27e, the company mentioned that users will receive automatic notifications on their devices if the update is compatible with their handset. Further details about the update are expected to be unveiled on October 7.

Additionally, in September, OnePlus announced the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 2, which is based on Android 14, for supported devices. This update introduces the Trinity Engine to handle multitasking, heavy usage, and extended operations. It also features the Device Security Engine 3.0, which is based on Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for enhanced security.

The OxygenOS 14 update is scheduled to roll out to smartphones in October, with some devices receiving it in November. The flagship OnePlus 11 5G will be the first model to receive the stable OxygenOS 14 update.
