Oppo has introduced the Oppo A2 in China, expanding its budget-friendly smartphone lineup. The new addition to the Oppo A-series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, coupled with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The Oppo A2 boasts a 6.72-inch LTPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Additionally, the device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging and holds an IP54 dust and splash-resistant rating.

Pricing for the Oppo A2 starts at CNY 1,699 (approximately Rs. 16,500) for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-tier model, featuring 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is priced at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 20,000). Currently, it is available for purchase in China in Ice Crystal Violet, Jinghai Black, and Qingbo Emerald color options through the Oppo store. However, details about the phone’s availability in other markets, including India, are yet to be confirmed.

In terms of specifications, the Oppo A2 is a dual SIM (Nano) device featuring a 6.72-inch full-HD+ LTPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 391ppi pixel density, 680nits peak brightness, and a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. The display supports a touch sampling rate of up to 180Hz. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, accompanied by 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and Mali-G57 MC2. The virtual RAM feature enables the expansion of onboard memory up to 24GB, and the device offers up to 512GB of UFS2.2 storage.

The dual rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 77-degree field of view, along with a 2-megapixel sensor featuring an f/2.4 aperture lens. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens.

Connectivity options on the Oppo A2 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, GPS, and A-GPS. The phone is equipped with various sensors, including an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor. It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication and supports facial recognition. Additionally, the device comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Oppo A2 is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. It has dimensions of 165.6x76x7.9mm and weighs 193 grams.
