It’s official: the OnePlus 12 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The imminent arrival of the OnePlus 12, set to supersede the current flagship model, the OnePlus 11, has been confirmed by the company. Essential details about the upcoming model have been officially disclosed, complementing earlier leaks from tipsters. Earlier suggestions regarding Sony LYT sensors for the OnePlus 12 have been substantiated, reinforcing the anticipation for an early 2024 release, as hinted in a recent teaser.

In a Weibo post, OnePlus unveiled key camera specifications for the OnePlus 12. The smartphone will feature Sony’s LYT-808 primary sensor and boast a ProXDR display with a 2K resolution. Additionally, the device is confirmed to include a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. OnePlus has also teased the inclusion of a DisplayMate A+ rated X1 “Oriental Screen” with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and it will run on OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. The OnePlus 12 will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Further leaks suggest a 48-megapixel sensor with a Sony IMX581 ultra-wide telephoto shooter, accompanied by a substantial 5,400mAh battery. The battery is expected to support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

The current flagship, the OnePlus 11 5G, is available in India in Eternal Green, Titan Black, and Marble Odyssey color options. Priced at Rs. 61,999 for the high-end 16GB + 256GB variant and Rs. 56,999 for the base 8GB + 256GB option, the OnePlus 11 boasts a 6.7-inch Quad-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13, housing a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The OnePlus 11’s triple rear camera setup features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 ultra-wide sensor, and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto sensor. The front camera is equipped with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor.
